The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum is located in Washington D.C. Visiting the memorial is a sobering, humble, and an honorable experience. This memorial is the heart of the annual Police Week that happens in May each year.
“The purpose of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is to honor the role of law enforcement, in service to society, by recognizing the sacrifices and valor of law enforcement, educating the community, and making it safer for those who serve.”
In 2018, the National Law Enforcement Museum opened its doors. It is located across the street from the memorial and offers an impressive display of law enforcement history in the United States. There are interactive exhibits including a driving simulator and use of force decision making experience. The exhibits include a wide variety of law enforcement services from 9-1-1 dispatch and communications, to patrol, to investigations, and special units.
The Museum offers a wide variety of speaking programs and a dynamic series of podcasts featuring history and contemporary topics.
